Laser Hair Removal Services in the Salt Lake Area

In addition to our cosmetic injectables and micro-needling services, The Vein Clinic offers high-quality hair removal services. We utilize the Syneron Candela GentleMax Pro® with the Alexandrite/Nd:YAG lasers to provide the best hair removal results for all skin types. Most patients reduce hair growth up to 90% after a complete series of treatments, which typically consists of 6-8 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. However, progress will vary depending on your hair color and skin type. By the third treatment, most of our clients are pleasantly surprised by the amount of hair removal they see.

Though we treat all areas of the body, the most popular areas for women include the legs, underarms, upper lip, and bikini line, while for men they tend to be the back of the neck, back, abdomen, and chest.

At The Vein Clinic, we offer both affordable starter packages and one-treatment options, allowing you to have an experience with our treatment methods before you commit to something long-term. Just call 844-808-3467 today to schedule an appointment! We proudly serve the communities in and surrounding Salt Lake County and Utah County, UT.

Before and After Care for Laser Hair Removal

If you are opting for laser hair removal services, there are several things you can do to capitalize on your results. Often, people who are about to get laser hair removal do not receive proper instruction in how to care for their skin before or after the procedure.  However, courtesy of our team, we’ve put together some tips on how you can prep for your treatment to achieve the best outcome possible.

  • The area of skin to be treated must be clean-shaven. Do not tweeze, wax, or use a mechanical epilator in the area to be treated. Unshaven clients will have to be rescheduled.
  • Avoid UV ray exposure 7 days prior to your treatment.
  • If you have a sunburn or a tan, you must wait 2 weeks before treatment to avoid any possible skin damage.
  • Avoid any sunless tanning products 7 days prior to being treated. We recommend that you exfoliate the area to remove any residual color.
  • Avoid neuro-inhibitors, chemical peels, micro-needling, and other laser procedures in the area to be treated for 2 weeks prior and two weeks after your laser treatment.
  • If you are prone to getting cold sores in the area in which you will be treated, we recommend you take an antiviral medication (such as Valtrex) before your treatment. Clients with active cold sores cannot be treated.

Please keep in mind that we will be unable to perform laser hair removal if you:

  • Have experienced a tan or sunburn within 2 weeks of treatment.
  • Have experienced more than 2 hours of UV exposure to the treatment area within 1 week of treatment.
  • Are on a long-term antibiotic that may cause photosensitivity.
  • Are pregnant.
  • Have used Accutane within the past 6 months
  • Have a tattoo in the desired treatment area. We can go around it, but not over.
  • Have epilepsy.

  • You may experience some slight redness, swelling, and bumps in the treated area for up to 72 hours. If these conditions persist, topical creams such as calamine, aloe, or 1% hydrocortisone can be applied.
  • Begin to exfoliate treated areas after 72 hours, or after skin irritation/redness has resolved, to minimize the risk of ingrown hairs. Allow a minimum of 7 to 14 days post-treatment for hair to shed from the skin.
  • If you experience any discomfort post-treatment due to itching or heat, you may use ice packs, cool towels, or aloe vera to alleviate the symptoms.
  • Avoid exposure to heat (hot tubs, hot baths, saunas, or excessive sweating) for the first 24 hours after treatment.
  • Avoid any additional chemical procedures or laser treatments on the treated area for at least 2 weeks post-treatment, or until healing has completed.
  • Avoid extended UV ray exposure for 7 days post-treatment. Using a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30 or higher is advised after receiving laser treatments.
  • While side effects are uncommon, they may possibly include: Hypopigmentation (loss of skin pigmentation), Hyperpigmentation (darkening of skin), follicular edema (little pink/red small bumps like “goose bumps” around the hair follicles), temporary redness, swelling, and itching in the treated area, rashes, hives, or bruising. If you experience any side effects, please call or come in person for instructions on treatment.
