Find Out About Varicose Vein Laser Ablation

This new technique uses a laser to create intense local heat in the affected vein which closes up the targeted vessel. This heat closes up the targeted blood vessel and closes off problem veins while leaving them in place, which results in minimal bleeding and bruising.

This treatment, compared to ligation and stripping, results in less pain and a quicker return to your normal activities with similar cosmetic results. Our procedure is minimally invasive, relieves symptoms within 2 days and will allow you to resume normal activities within a few days. It also decreases the likelihood of the worsening of varicose veins.

A Simple Procedure With a Quick Recovery

Endovenous laser ablation involves a small laser inserted through a needle into a vein that requires treatment. The laser is activated once it’s reached the desired location, creating pulses of light that collapse the vein and cause it to seal shut as the laser is pulled back through. This procedure is performed in-office under a local anesthetic.

Recovery from the procedure is fairly quick and simple, necessitating that you avoid intense exercise and activity for 48 hours. In the next two weeks, it’s advised that you wear compression hose.

During the recovery period, you may experience mild discomfort and there can be discoloration or bruising on your skin for up to 6 weeks. This is completely normal. Ibuprofen is recommended to alleviate pain and pressure.

“The staff was very informative and supportive throughout the entire process. I really enjoyed the facility and the special attention I received as a patient.”
