Learn About the Microphlebectomy Procedure

Generally, the process begins with veins being marked while you’re standing to make it easier to identify problem areas. Once lying down, a local anesthetic is used to numb the areas and a small puncture is made to remove the varicose vein. A steri-strip is then placed over the puncture wound.

As this is an office-based procedure, most people are able to return to normal activities immediately, however, strenuous activity may be limited for one or two weeks. You will need to wear medical-grade compression stockings for anywhere from 36 hours to 2 weeks.
