Long-Lasting Results in Spider Vein Treatment

Ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy is used to treat veins that reflux and are close to the skin surface, near nerves, or very tortuous areas. A sclerosant solution injected into the abnormal veins causes the wall to collapse. The veins then dissolve and disappear as the body absorbs them.

An ultrasound is used to guide placement of the medication and to monitor for successful treatment. This procedure leaves little-to-no bruising, leaving skin smooth and unmarked. If you’d like your spider veins to disappear quickly, schedule your treatment with the experts at The Vein Clinic.

Sclerotherapy Process and Recovery

Beginning with a detailed, duplex ultrasound that maps out the problem veins, US-guided sclerotherapy allows the doctor to direct the needle to hidden, problem veins. Several injections are required to treat the vein and the procedure normally takes anywhere between a half an hour and an hour.

After sclerotherapy, most patients return to normal activities immediately. However, It’s still not recommended that you lift any heavy objects or engage in high-impact activities for at least 2 weeks.

“The staff was very informative and supportive throughout the entire process. I really enjoyed the facility and the special attention I received as a patient.”
